Reporting rework is the manual labor required to make a recurring executive report usable after the underlying dashboard, spreadsheet, or metric pack already exists.

That work rarely appears on a roadmap. It still taxes the business every week.

A high score does not tell you:

What to Do with Each Reporting Band
If you scored Operationally reliable
Keep the workflow boring. Document the owner, preserve the review cadence, and resist the temptation to keep loading extra decisions into the same artifact just because it currently works.
If you scored Manageable but fragile
You probably do not need a rebuild yet. You do need one deliberate cleanup move. Usually that means tightening artifact scope, clarifying one metric family, or removing the spreadsheet dependency that keeps turning routine reporting into a rescue operation.

Do not reward the heroics.
